Just as the church marks the season and cycles of the
liturgical calendar in worship, the church also marks the
seasons and cycles of individuals and families through
Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage and Funerals.
Baptism
Through the sacrament of Holy baptism God claims us as sons and daughters and welcomes us into the body of Christ. Holy Trinity offers personalized instruction for adults who wish to become a part of the Christian community through baptism and for parents who wish to have their children baptized. Confirmation
Confirmation is a 3-year-long course of instruction for middle and high school age youth who wish to be baptized or to affirm the baptismal vows taken on their behalf by their parents. The confirmation program begins in September of each year and concludes with the Rite of Confirmation on Pentecost Sunday at the end of the third year. Weddings
Holy Trinity welcomes couples who wish to make public their personal commitment to each other through the service of Christian Marriage. Couples interested in being married at Holy Trinity usually meet three times with one of the pastors to prepare for taking their vows and to plan and personalize their service. Please call to have a booklet mailed containing all the fees and guidelines for the use of Holy Trinity for weddings. The pastor’s fees are waived for couples who are actively engaged in the life of Holy Trinity.
Funerals
In the Lutheran tradition, the service marking
the end of an individual’s life brings us full cycle, back to
the beginning of our life in Christ through Baptism. We are
reminded that, because God loves and claims us as God’s own,
nothing separates us from God’s love, not even death.
